Association History

You have to know where you’ve been to know where you are going. Kappa holds a special place in its heart for Fraternity history, but every association of our organization has unique beginnings of its own. Each plays a part in shaping us today and continuing the Kappa tradition beyond college.

At the core of the Kappa Kappa Gamma San Fernando Valley Alumnae Association are Kappas who value the bonds we share.  It is comprised of of women who wish to extend themselves to each other, to local active chapters, and the community.  Members include business executives, elected representatives, entrepreneurs, teachers, moms, attorneys, medical professionals, entertainment industry professionals, philanthropists, non-profit leaders, retirees, fitness professionals, researchers, marketers, graduate students, PhD candidates, and more.  Our Kappas are multifaceted, with varied interests, experience, and activities.  Each values what Kappa brings as an alumnae and what they can bring Kappa as an alumnae.

The San Fernando Valley Alumnae Association was founded in 1942. More recently, in 2007, our region expanded to absorb the Southern Ventura County Alumnae Association and the area up through Santa Clarita. At this point there are over 1,400 Kappas in this region and we are working hard to reach Kappa Alumnae throughout the area in a variety of ways.
